measurements and establishing remote point to point or point to
multipoint communications.

Introducing
the 2001 version of the Mobile Test Unit.
| Here is the
unit starting to be deployed, note the mast is raised in
vertical position but it is not extended. The mast is capable of
30' (50' models available) with up to 12sq foot of wind
load. Note we have mounted on this mast a BreezeAccess II
SU high powered 16Dbi Antenna. This unit weighs apx 10lbs and is
very stable even in winds up to 60 knots.
In this picture we show the Omnis in
transmission mode talking to a remote laptop running a 802.11 PCMCIA
card.

Here is the mast deployed at
apx 15 feet out of the 30 feet. The mast is set to an
inclination of apx +15 Degree angle. This angle is adjustable from 0
to plus or minus +/-15 Degrees. Other models (2001-50) have mast
up to 50 feet with 22lb head load capacity.
For picture purposes only we have shown
the storage bins with the lids in semi open position. They are
not required to be open during operational mode. Both cabinets
are weatherproof and vented.
|
| Note that we chose to use Breezecom exclusively in our
2001 version of the MTU. Breezecoms new BreezeAccess II radios
are rock solid and deliver extraordinary performance in harsh
conditions. This combined with the proven DS.11 radio offers us
the ability to establish links in excess of 20 miles with this setup. |
 |
 |
Equipment cabinets house a compressor for the pneumatic
mast, electronics for the radios, power conditioning equipment and
storage space for misc support items. |
MTU
(Mobile Test Unit) 2001
The
mobile Test Unit is an exclusive design by Wireless-Telecom, Inc.
This multipurpose unit was designed to cut field strength and path profile
/ site measurement times in half. A single person can deploy this
unit and be up and testing in less than 3 minutes! The mast is
pneumatic and is controlled by a single lever to raise and lower.
The unit can be setup and then controlled from up to 6 miles away with the
Omnis, or up to 15 miles away via the high powered SU. This unit
also works well to demonstrate the power of wireless and its impact on
business and residential users alike. In a matter of minutes you can
deploy this unit and show a potential customer what high speed wireless
access looks like. This unit has been used to do remote broadcast
from restaurants, bars, business warehouses, office complexes, concerts,
trade shows, outdoor festivals, fairs, etc.. all at a fraction of
what it would take in resources (time and materials) to deploy wireless
using conventional methods. For
